Responsibilities
- Monitor and Analyze: Continuously monitor security systems, SIEM tools, and network traffic to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and response to security breaches, malware infections, and anomalous activities using industry-standard tools.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our infrastructure and recommend remediation strategies.
- Access Control: Manage and review user access rights, ensuring strict adherence to the principle of least privilege and compliance with internal policies.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for threats within the environment and analyze threat intelligence to predict and prevent future attacks.
- Compliance Reporting: Assist in the preparation of audit reports and documentation for internal and external audits, including SOC2 and HIPAA compliance.
- Security Awareness: Collaborate with the IT team to implement security patches, configure firewalls, and ensure endpoint protection is up to date.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is required.
- Certifications: Active certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GCIH is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related IT role.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Tools: Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint protection platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, Sentinel).
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Clearance: Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary government clearances if required.
