Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct incident investigation and response activities, including threat hunting and forensic analysis
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis
- Provide security awareness training to employees and conduct security audits
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with security tools: SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future) and malware analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting to technical and non-technical stakeholders
