Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and incident response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Analyze emerging threats and provide actionable intelligence to leadership
- Manage security tool configurations including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms
- Prepare comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat detection
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight)
- Strong knowledge of network protocols and attack vectors
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
