Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and maintain compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Develop and execute threat-hunting strategies using MITRE ATT&CK framework
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Stay current with emerging threats and zero-day vulnerabilities through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat analysis
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or CompTIA Security+)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Strong scripting abilities (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation tasks
- Experience with incident response methodologies and forensic tools (EnCase, FTK)
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities under pressure
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance (preferred)
