Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms for threat detection and rapid incident response
- Conduct forensic investigations and malware analysis for security events
- Develop playbooks for ransomware, APT, and DDoS mitigation
- Collaborate with IT teams on vulnerability patching and hardening
- Generate executive security dashboards and compliance reports
- Lead tabletop exercises for crisis response preparedness
- Research emerging threats and recommend defensive controls
Qualifications
- 3+ years SOC/Security Operations experience with CISSP or Security+ certification
- Expertise in SIEM (Splunk/Symantec), EDR (CrowdStrike), and IDS/IPS tools
- Hands-on experience with threat hunting frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK)
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and Windows/Linux systems
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain (federal projects)
- Experience with NIST 800-53 frameworks and risk assessments
