Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security documentation (policies, playbooks, incident reports)
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Analyze emerging threats and provide actionable intelligence to leadership
- Manage patch management and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Lead security awareness training for employees
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation (shared team responsibility)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- Industry certifications: CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CEH preferred
- Proficiency with security tools: IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and containerization
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Valid NYS driver's license (for occasional on-site requirements)
