Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security protocols to protect networks, systems, and sensitive data
- Investigate security incidents, document findings, and coordinate remediation efforts
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and other regulatory standards
- Create comprehensive incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight) and EDR tools
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats and make decisive actions
- Exceptional communication skills for documenting incidents and presenting findings
- Ability to work independently during flexible hours while meeting deadlines
