Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events across the network using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits to ensure system integrity.
- Implement and maintain robust firewall, antivirus, and endpoint protection strategies.
- Respond to security incidents and breaches, leading the containment and recovery efforts.
- Manage user access controls and perform privilege reviews to enforce the principle of least privilege.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and regulatory requirements (NIST, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in a SOC, Security Analyst, or Network Administration role.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, GCIH, or CCNA Security.
- Strong working knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, and common security architectures.
- Experience with Linux and Windows environments, including scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
- Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and training purposes.
