Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and investigate potential threats using provided SIEM platforms
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing with specialized testing tools
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate security breach mitigation
- Analyze network traffic patterns to detect sophisticated cyber attacks
- Document security incidents and prepare executive-level reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current with emerging threats and countermeasures through provided research resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SOC or similar environment
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (CEH preferred)
- Expertise in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during incidents
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
- Experience with NIST frameworks and compliance standards
