Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and escalate critical incidents
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing under guidance
- Document security incidents and maintain compliance reports
- Participate in tabletop exercises and incident response drills
- Analyze network traffic patterns to detect anomalous behavior
- Collaborate with senior analysts on threat intelligence research
- Assist in implementing security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Stay updated on emerging threats through continuous training
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field OR equivalent military experience
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts in 24/7 operations environment
- CompTIA Security+ certification preferred (training provided)
- Valid U.S. government clearance eligibility (required)
