Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) to detect and respond to suspicious activities in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead or assist in the investigation, containment, and remediation of security breaches and cyber incidents.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans, risk assessments, and penetration testing support to identify system weaknesses.
- Access Control: Manage user access rights, perform regular reviews of permissions, and enforce Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies.
- Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to industry standards such as NIST, CIS Controls, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
- Security Awareness: Assist in developing and delivering security awareness training programs for employees.
- Firewall Management: Configure and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs to secure network perimeters.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field required.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC GSEC certification preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related IT role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight), firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto), and endpoint protection solutions.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and common attack vectors.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Location: Must be willing to work on-site in Laredo, TX.
