Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, FireEye) to detect threats in real-time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our network infrastructure.
- Investigate and remediate security breaches and incidents with minimal downtime.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Document security incidents and prepare detailed reports for senior management and compliance audits.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to enforce secure coding practices and patch management.
- Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or information security analysis.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
- Experience with security tools including Wireshark, Metasploit, or Nessus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance is a plus.
- Certifications such as Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly preferred.
