Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify and mitigate sophisticated cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting detailed reports and recommending preventive measures
- Develop and maintain security playbooks for incident response protocols aligned with NIST frameworks
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement network segmentation, firewall rules, and endpoint protection strategies
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical infrastructure
- Stay current on emerging threats through continuous research and threat intelligence analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat detection environments
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, and network security protocols
- Strong analytical skills with experience in log correlation and anomaly detection
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining meticulous documentation
- Valid U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain one
