Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions
- Document security incidents, forensic investigations, and remediation activities in compliance with NIST frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to develop security policies and incident response procedures
- Stay current on emerging threats and industry best practices through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in network security tools (Wireshark, Nmap) and threat intelligence platforms
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate security events across multiple data sources
- Excellent written communication skills for security reporting and stakeholder presentations
