Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using Splunk, QRadar, and ArcSI to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending mitigation strategies
- Develop and maintain security playbooks for incident response, malware analysis, and vulnerability patching
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls, perform risk assessments, and ensure NIST 800-53 compliance
- Generate executive-level security reports and dashboards communicating threat landscapes and mitigation progress
- Lead vulnerability management cycles using Nessus, Qualys, and Tenable to remediate critical exposures
- Participate in red team exercises and penetration testing to validate security controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence tools (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud security (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (required for client projects)
