Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify and respond to cyber threats in real-time
  • Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions
  • Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, policies, and incident response procedures
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and NYDFS regulations
  • Stay current with emerging threats and threat intelligence through continuous research and training
  • Present security posture reports to executive stakeholders with actionable insights

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat analysis
  • Professional certifications: CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ (preferred)
  • Proficiency in SIEM tools, network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS), and cloud security frameworks (AWS/Azure)
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS)
