Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to identify and investigate potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement incident response plans for security breaches
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and other regulatory standards
- Analyze network traffic and logs to detect anomalous activities
- Document security incidents and create detailed forensic reports
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and security automation platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively under pressure during security incidents
