Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident response plans and risk assessments
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Lead incident response activities during security breaches, ensuring rapid containment and recovery
- Research emerging threats and provide actionable intelligence to stakeholders
- Perform forensic analysis on security incidents and generate comprehensive reports
- Stay current with evolving cyber threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- Professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with security tools: SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, EDR solutions
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence
- Experience with incident response methodologies and forensic investigation tools
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate complex security concepts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
