Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions
- Develop and implement security controls, including firewall rules, IDS/IPS configurations, and endpoint protection strategies
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulations
- Create comprehensive security incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises to validate preparedness
- Stay current with emerging threats and attack vectors, providing actionable intelligence to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Professional certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Expertise in SIEM tools, network security protocols, and threat intelligence platforms
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux systems, cloud environments (AWS/Azure), and network architectures
- Experience with security automation tools (Python, PowerShell) and SIEM correlation rules
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats and communicate complex issues clearly
- Ability to work independently in remote environment while collaborating effectively across teams
