Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems, networks, and applications for threats using SIEM tools like Splunk
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware outbreaks and unauthorized access
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 standards
- Generate comprehensive security reports and executive dashboards
- Stay current with emerging threats and adapt defense strategies accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ (required)
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS systems, and network analysis tools
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, firewalls, and encryption protocols
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (e.g., Recorded Future, AlienVault)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to thrive under pressure during incident response scenarios
