Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential breaches
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and implement incident response plans for security breaches and data compromises
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Create comprehensive security documentation including policies, procedures, and risk assessment reports
- Lead forensic investigations for security incidents and provide detailed post-mortem analysis
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend security enhancements to infrastructure
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in network security tools (Wireshark, Nmap) and firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (CrowdStrike, Recorded Future)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and Windows/Linux system administration
- Ability to create clear technical documentation and present findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain government clearance preferred
