Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and mitigate threats in real-time
- Conduct incident response investigations, documenting findings and implementing containment strategies
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, policies, and incident reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST frameworks
- Stay current on emerging threats and threat actor tactics through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in threat detection and incident response
- Professional certifications (CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CompTIA CySA+)
- Expertise in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, and network security protocols
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex data across multiple sources
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
