Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks, runbooks, and incident response procedures
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security gaps
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Provide 24/7 on-call incident response support during security breaches or critical events
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders and regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CEH preferred
- Expertise in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure), and attack vectors
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Ability to thrive under pressure and make critical decisions during security incidents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
