Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for anomalous activity and potential threats
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and develop mitigation strategies
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, CIS, and industry-specific regulations
- Document security procedures and prepare executive-level threat intelligence reports
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for incident response and critical event handling
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS tools
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61) and forensic tools
- Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions during security incidents
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
