Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation
- Develop and implement security controls, including firewall policies, IDS/IPS rules, and endpoint protection measures
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulations
- Create comprehensive security incident response plans and conduct regular tabletop exercises
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat actors through continuous research and threat intelligence analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, network security protocols, and forensic investigation techniques
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and endpoint security
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future) and vulnerability scanners
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting to technical and non-technical stakeholders
