Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and triage potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents using tools like Wireshark and EnCase
- Develop and maintain security playbooks for incident response procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement vulnerability remediation strategies
- Generate comprehensive security incident reports for stakeholders
- Stay current on emerging threats and attack vectors through threat intelligence feeds
- Participate in penetration testing and red team exercises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on SOC analyst experience with SIEM platforms
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Experience with threat intelligence frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
