Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using Splunk and AlienVault SIEM platforms to detect and mitigate cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and access management solutions
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using tools like Nessus and Burp Suite
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident response plans and risk assessments
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and CIS security frameworks
- Provide security awareness training to employees and conduct phishing simulation exercises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or cybersecurity incident response
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CEH certification (CompTIA Security+ required)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network analysis protocols
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and common attack vectors (MITRE ATT&CK framework)
- Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS Security Hub, Azure Sentinel)
- Excellent written communication skills for reporting and stakeholder presentations
