Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and investigate potential security incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement incident response plans, including containment, eradication, and recovery procedures
- Analyze malware, intrusion attempts, and anomalous network behavior using forensic tools
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security controls align with compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Document security incidents, remediation actions, and maintain comprehensive audit trails
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and cloud security architecture
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to correlate complex data points
- Effective communication skills for reporting security incidents to technical and non-technical stakeholders
