Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and analyze potential threats
- Conduct incident response investigations, including root cause analysis and containment procedures
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks and mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and compliance frameworks
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat detection
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or Sentinel)
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and zero-trust architecture
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST, SANS)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate complex issues clearly
