Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and investigate potential threats
- Analyze network traffic, logs, and endpoint data to identify suspicious activities
- Respond to security incidents including malware outbreaks, phishing attacks, and unauthorized access
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident response playbooks and vulnerability assessments
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Conduct forensic investigations and root cause analysis of security breaches
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or threat detection
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (CEH preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to work on-site in San Jose
