Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident response plans and playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Analyze security alerts to determine root causes and implement remediation actions
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
- Participate in incident response activities including investigation and recovery operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and security automation
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure), and threat vectors
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments with competing priorities
