Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents and document detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and execute security awareness training programs for staff
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards
- Create comprehensive incident response plans and conduct regular tabletop exercises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS configuration, and network security tools
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud security (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret complex security data
- Active TS/SCI clearance required
