Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for threat detection and incident response
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols
- Develop and execute incident response plans including forensic analysis and containment strategies
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS standards
- Create detailed security reports and executive dashboards for stakeholders
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations with hands-on SIEM experience (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in network security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (MISP, AlienVault)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to investigate complex security incidents
- Excellent written communication for documentation and reporting
- Ability to work rotating on-call shifts for incident response
