Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, determining root causes and implementing mitigation strategies
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, incident response plans, and vulnerability assessments
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and GDPR standards
- Perform vulnerability scanning and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Research emerging threats and threat actors to proactively enhance security posture
- Provide security awareness training to employees and conduct regular security audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ (required)
- Experience with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection platforms
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
