Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct threat hunting and forensic investigations to identify advanced persistent threats
- Develop and implement security automation scripts for incident response workflows
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate vulnerabilities and implement security controls
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices (CIS, NIST)
- Participate in penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations or threat detection roles
- Certifications: CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC preferred
- Expertise in network security, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR)
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and endpoint protection platforms
