Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cybersecurity incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and implement security protocols to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS standards
- Prepare detailed incident reports and executive security briefings
- Research emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
- Manage security tooling including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in threat detection and incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and network analysis tools
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Windows/Linux systems
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Ability to work effectively under pressure during security incidents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
