Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents using SIEM tools like Splunk and QRadar.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Implement and manage firewall rules, IPS/IDS, and other network security appliances.
- Enforce security policies and compliance standards (NIST, HIPAA, SOC2) across the organization.
- Collaborate with IT operations to patch vulnerabilities and resolve technical issues.
- Conduct security awareness training for staff members to reduce human error risks.
- Document security incidents and prepare detailed reports for management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar environment.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI models, and common network protocols.
- Experience with Linux and Windows system administration is required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex security scenarios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to stakeholders.
