Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts, network traffic, and system logs using SIEM tools to detect and respond to threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to identify security gaps
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and incident response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and regulatory standards
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement remediation measures
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders and recommend improvements
- Stay current with emerging threats, attack vectors, and defensive technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar), IDS/IPS systems, and EDR solutions
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and encryption standards
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during security incidents
