Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with NIST and CIS frameworks
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Collaborate with IT teams to enhance security controls across cloud and on-premises environments
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat intelligence to proactively defend against zero-day vulnerabilities
- Prepare comprehensive security incident reports for executive stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools, firewalls, and endpoint protection platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud security architectures
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (e.g., Recorded Future, MISP)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical security alerts
- Active DoD Secret clearance preferred
