Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and investigate potential threats
- Conduct incident response coordination including containment, eradication, and recovery
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks and procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Analyze malware and advanced persistent threats using forensic tools
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and executive summaries
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry trends (CIS Benchmarks, MITRE ATT&CK)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM tools, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and IDS/IPS systems
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Ability to work in high-pressure incident response scenarios
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
