Responsibilities
- Design and implement ethical AI governance frameworks aligned with EU AI Act and evolving US regulations
- Conduct algorithmic bias audits across machine learning pipelines using statistical fairness metrics
- Develop transparent explainability protocols for high-stakes AI systems (healthcare, finance, autonomous systems)
- Create stakeholder engagement strategies for diverse communities affected by AI deployments
- Lead cross-functional ethics review boards for new product launches
- Author whitepapers on emerging AI ethics challenges and publish in industry journals
- Monitor global regulatory developments and translate compliance requirements into technical requirements
Qualifications
- PhD or Master's in Philosophy, Computer Science, Ethics, or related field with 5+ years of AI ethics experience
- Proven expertise in implementing fairness, accountability, and transparency (FAT) frameworks
- Deep understanding of global AI regulatory landscapes (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, etc.)
- Experience with bias detection tools (Aequitas, IBM AI Fairness 360) and statistical fairness metrics
- Exceptional ability to translate complex ethical concepts into actionable technical requirements
- Published work in AI ethics or technology ethics journals preferred
- Strong background in participatory design methodologies with marginalized communities
