Responsibilities
- Development & Deployment: Lead the weekend release cycle for new features and hotfixes, ensuring zero-downtime deployments via CI/CD pipelines.
- System Maintenance: Proactively monitor system health, perform database backups, and apply security patches during low-traffic windows.
- Incident Response: Serve as the primary technical responder for critical alerts that occur on weekends, escalating complex issues to the on-call team if necessary.
- Code Review: Conduct rigorous code reviews for sprint planning and post-release validation to maintain high code quality standards.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for infrastructure changes and weekend procedures.
- Collaboration: Partner with the Product and QA teams to ensure requirements are met for the upcoming sprint releases.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Programming: Proficiency in at least two of the following: Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
- Infrastructure: Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Tools: Experience with Git, Jenkins, and modern monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Availability: Must be available to work a fixed weekend schedule (e.g., Saturday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
