As a Weekend Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our 99.99% uptime SLA and driving technical excellence during off-peak hours.
Responsibilities
- Core Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications and APIs for our fintech platform.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in production environments to ensure minimal downtime.
- Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code; conduct thorough code reviews for the weekend team.
- System Optimization: Analyze system performance metrics and implement optimizations to improve speed and reliability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the QA team and the Monday-Friday engineering squad to plan releases and migrations.
- CI/CD: Manage and improve our continuous integration and deployment pipelines for weekend deployments.
- Documentation: Create and update technical documentation and runbooks for critical systems.
Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Language: Proficiency in Python or Java is required; experience with React or Node.js is a plus.
- Databases: Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Tools: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work the weekend shift (Saturday and Sunday).
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
