Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs designed to operate seamlessly during night cycles.
- Monitor production systems, servers, and databases to ensure 99.9% uptime and immediate incident resolution during off-peak hours.
- Debug complex software issues and optimize code performance to handle high loads efficiently.
- Collaborate with the day-shift team via asynchronous communication (Slack, Jira) to ensure seamless handovers and feature deployment.
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to architectural improvements for long-term stability.
- Automate deployment pipelines and implement CI/CD practices tailored for night-time releases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development, preferably with experience in night shift or 24/7 support environments.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or C#.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be willing to work the night shift schedule (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
