Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for the night shift operations team.
- Debug and resolve complex production issues with minimal supervision during off-peak hours.
- Monitor system performance, health, and security alerts, initiating immediate remediation steps when necessary.
- Collaborate asynchronously with the day shift engineering team to ensure seamless code integration and deployment.
- Conduct code reviews and write technical documentation for night operations procedures.
- Optimize database queries and application performance to handle high-volume traffic.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency in at least two of the following: Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
- Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and caching layers (Redis).
- Mandatory Requirement: Must be willing and able to work the night shift schedule (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM Pacific Time).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and containerization technologies.
