The Role
As a Weekend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our product suite, performing critical maintenance tasks, and resolving high-priority tickets that arise during the weekend period.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions for critical infrastructure during off-peak hours.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues reported by our global client base.
- Execute nightly batch jobs, data migrations, and system patches to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with the on-call team via chat and video during emergencies.
- Write clean, documented code and perform code reviews for weekend interns.
- Monitor system logs and alerting tools to proactively prevent downtime.
- Participate in agile ceremonies to align weekend goals with weekly business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in software development (Backend or Full Stack).
- Proficiency in at least two major programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, or C#).
- Strong understanding of database management (SQL, NoSQL) and version control (Git).
- Experience working in a 24/7 support environment or similar rotational shifts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
