Responsibilities
- Core Development & Maintenance: Design, develop, and deploy high-quality code for our backend services and APIs during weekend maintenance windows.
- System Stability: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.
- Database Management: Optimize database queries and ensure data integrity across our distributed systems.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Automate testing and deployment processes to ensure rapid and reliable releases.
- Code Quality: Conduct rigorous code reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices and coding standards.
- Incident Response: Lead the technical response during critical incidents, providing 24/7 support coverage.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a DevOps or SRE-focused role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go. Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Tools: Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating with remote teams.
- Availability: Must be available to work a consistent weekend schedule (e.g., Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST).
