As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining uptime and optimizing system performance during off-peak hours.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and maintain high-availability software solutions specifically for night-time maintenance windows.
- Monitor system health and performance metrics, proactively identifying and resolving critical bugs.
- Perform nightly data migrations, backups, and security patching to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with the day-shift engineering team during overlap hours to hand off tickets and ensure seamless transitions.
- Contribute to the technical documentation and architecture planning for future system upgrades.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues that require immediate attention during off-hours.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in a high-traffic environment.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or Go.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively during team overlaps.
