Responsibilities
- Develop 5-10 year technology roadmaps for emerging fields including quantum computing, AI ethics, and biotech integration
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives to prototype and validate next-gen technologies
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive trends and emerging threats/opportunities
- Present strategic recommendations to C-suite and board stakeholders
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and tech pioneers
- Build and mentor a team of future-focused researchers and analysts
- Define innovation metrics and track progress against strategic KPIs
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy, R&D leadership, or emerging tech roles
- Proven track record in developing long-term technology roadmaps
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (quantum, AI, biotech, etc.)
- Experience with horizon scanning and trend analysis methodologies
- Strong business acumen with ability to translate tech concepts into ROI
- PhD or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Published thought leadership in tech innovation or strategy
