Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and SIEM dashboards during overnight shifts (11 PM - 7 AM)
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents including malware, intrusion attempts, and data breaches
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed incident response reports
- Collaborate with day-shift analysts for seamless security operations handover
- Implement security controls and recommend improvements to enhance defense posture
- Stay current with emerging threats and adapt security protocols accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and EDR solutions
- Experience with network security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently overnight
- Knowledge of NIST frameworks and compliance standards
- Valid driver's license for occasional on-call rotations
